Mobile apps for businesses and founders

Mobile app development in Melbourne. Built around real use.

Turn a business need or product idea into an app people can use with confidence. Context Aware designs and builds mobile apps, starting with the customer journey and a focused first release. We are based in Melbourne and work remotely with businesses and founders across Australia and New Zealand.

Discuss your project

Decide what the app needs to make easier.

An app earns its place when it helps someone complete a recurring task, stay connected to a service or do something useful on the move. We start by understanding the people using it, the problem they face and the systems behind that experience.

Sometimes a responsive website is the right first step. Where a mobile app is justified, we agree the essential journey before expanding the feature list. That can be a client workspace, a booking experience, a field workflow or a new consumer product.

  • The main user and the task they need to complete
  • The smallest useful release and what can wait
  • Required connections, data and account access
  • A clear way to evaluate the first version

Design for iPhone, Android and interruptions.

Mobile use brings small screens, changing connections and frequent interruptions. We consider navigation, touch targets, permissions, loading, error messages and what a person sees when they return to a task. Offline behaviour and notifications are agreed requirements rather than assumed extras.

We can scope an iOS app, an Android app or a shared approach for both platforms. The choice depends on your audience, device features and maintenance needs. You review the core screens and interactions while changes are still straightforward.

Connect the product to the business behind it.

An app may need accounts, payments, file sharing, bookings or access to existing records. We define what needs to connect, who can see each type of information and which actions require approval. Third-party subscriptions and platform fees are identified in the proposal.

Administration, support and account recovery need a place in the plan too. We agree who will manage the product after launch and what tools they need. This helps the finished app remain useful to both customers and the team responsible for it.

Keep the first release focused and competitively priced.

High-quality work starts with a clear scope. We separate the essential journey from optional features, explain content and access responsibilities, and agree review points before development begins. This gives you a clear proposal based on what your app actually needs.

The proposal can cover discovery, design, development, testing, store preparation and handover. Ongoing support and future releases are separate decisions. Timing depends on scope, integrations and approvals, including app-store review, which we cannot guarantee.

Test, prepare for launch and hand over clearly.

Before release, we check the agreed journeys on representative devices and review loading, empty states, permissions and failures. Store listings need accurate descriptions, screenshots and privacy information that reflects how the product actually works.

We clarify ownership of developer accounts, source code and connected services under the agreed engagement. The handover explains the release process, ongoing costs and support path. After launch, real use and customer feedback can guide the next release.

Before we begin

Your questions, answered.

Do you build for both iOS and Android?

Yes. We can scope one platform or both, then choose an approach that fits the audience, required features and ongoing maintenance.

Can you help us decide whether we need an app?

Yes. We compare the intended journey with what a responsive website could deliver. An app should have a clear reason to exist, such as repeated use or useful device capabilities.

Can you work with our existing systems?

We review the available integrations, permissions and data before including a connection in scope. Access and vendor limitations can affect what is practical.

What have you built yourselves?

We designed and built Intent and Come Alive Frames. Our Work includes descriptions and store links so you can explore them directly.

Can you guarantee app-store approval or a launch date?

No. Apple and Google control their reviews. We agree a delivery plan, prepare the submission and make dependencies visible, while allowing for feedback and review time.
